Eskom Maintains Load Shedding Suspension in South Africa

Eskom has decided to extend the suspension of load shedding due to improved generation fleet performance and fully recovered emergency reserves. The suspension will continue until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, October 24th. After this, Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented daily in the evenings. Below is the detailed schedule.

Eskom Maintains Load Shedding Suspension in South Africa

  • Tuesday: 4:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Wednesday)
  • Wednesday: No load shedding from 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM, followed by Stage 1 load shedding from 4:00 PM to 5:00 AM (Thursday).

This pattern will be repeated until further notice. As of now, there are breakdowns of 13,559 MW, and planned maintenance is at 4,765 MW of generation capacity.

The evening peak demand forecast is 25,054 MW, and Eskom assures it will communicate any significant changes.
