It should be noted that the information in this section is composed of links to municipalities or metros that provide their own loadshedding schedules, as well as instances where Eskom develops loadshedding schedules for certain areas or municipalities.  Below is an example of an Eskom-supplied municipality.

You can find your municipality on the Eskom Loadshedding website if it is not listed here

Example:      Municipality = Naledi, Town = Wepener

You should note that all shades indicate times when power will not be available. There is a cumulative schedule, i.e. for stage 3, the times will be the same as for phases 1 and 2.

 

E.g. Of How to Read the Schedule (i.e. Example Date and Blocks Shed)

If Load Shedding Is Declared for the 1st of Month in This Example Then Someone In Blouberg, Alldays Dorp Would Look at the Corresponding Date (As Depicted in the Picture Below):

  • If Eskom Declared Stage 1, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 03:30
  • If Eskom Declared Stage 2, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 03:30
  • If Eskom Declared Stage 3, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 03:30 and 17:00 – 19:30
  • If Eskom Declared Stage 4, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 03:30 and 09:00 – 11:30 and 17:00 – 19:30
  • If Eskom Declared Stage 5, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 05:30 and 09:00 – 11:30 and 17:00 – 19:30
  • If Eskom Declared Stage 6, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 05:30 and 09:00 – 11:30 and 17:00 – 19:30
  • If Eskom Declared Stage 7, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 05:30 and 09:00 – 11:30 and 17:00 – 21:30
  • If Eskom Declared Stage 8, This Would Mean He/She Would Be Shed From 01:00 – 05:30 and 09:00 – 13:30 and 17:00 – 21:30

Please note:

  • Eskom announces the load shedding timetable in a formal manner

  • You can check the load shedding position at any time at loadshedding.eskom.co.za

  • Load shedding timetable for each month.

  • Eskom will declare load shedding when it is ready. During loadshedding, you will be only load shed between 17h00 and 18h30 if your schedule is from 16:00 to 18:30.

  • You will be included in the higher stage if you are scheduled on a lower stage and a higher stage is announced

There is an administrative area known as Amahlathi Local Municipality in the Amatole District in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The name is Amahlati means “a forest where there are many trees grouped together”.  Amahlathi municipality

Eskom Loadshedding Today

Cathcart

South Africa’s Eastern Cape province counts Cathcart as its largest town, named after Sir George Cathcart, governor of the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope between 1852 and 1853. On the N6, 48 km north of Stutterheim, the town is situated on the way to Komani. As well as being the capital of Biltong in South Africa.

Please note that all shaded areas will be times when the power will be off. Schedules are cumulative, i.e. stage 3 will include the times as scheduled for the preceding stages 1 and 2.

E.g. of how to read the schedule (i.e. example date and blocks shed)
If load shedding is declared for the 1st of month in this example then someone in Blouberg, Alldays Dorp would look at the corresponding date (as depicted in the picture below):

  • if Eskom declared Stage 1, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 03:30
  • if Eskom declared Stage 2, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 03:30
  • if Eskom declared Stage 3, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 03:30 AND 17:00 – 19:30
  • if Eskom declared Stage 4, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 03:30 AND 09:00 – 11:30 AND 17:00 – 19:30
  • if Eskom declared Stage 5, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 05:30 AND 09:00 – 11:30 AND 17:00 – 19:30
  • if Eskom declared Stage 6, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 05:30 AND 09:00 – 11:30 AND 17:00 – 19:30
  • if Eskom declared Stage 7, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 05:30 AND 09:00 – 11:30 AND 17:00 – 21:30
  • if Eskom declared Stage 8, this would mean he/she would be shed from 01:00 – 05:30 AND 09:00 – 13:30 AND 17:00 – 21:30

  • The load shedding timetable starts when there is a formal announcement from Eskom
  • To check what the position is of load shedding at any time, go to http://www.loadshedding.eskom.co.za
  • This is a monthly time table for load shedding.
  • Load shedding will begin with the declaration from Eskom. If you are scheduled from 16:00 to 18:30,
  • but loadshedding is declared at 17h00, you will only be load shed from 17h00 to 18h30.
  • If you are scheduled on a lower stage and a higher stage is declared, then your current time slot will be included in the higher stage

In the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, Stutterheim has a population of 46,730 and is located in the Border region. Richard Von Stutterheim is the name of the park.
