Stage 2 Eskom load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 until 05:00 on both days. Today, as previously communicated, Stage 3 Eskom load shedding will continue from 16:00 until 05:00 on Saturday.

Maintenance and Repairs

Currently, there are breakdowns affecting 14,266MW of generating capacity, and 5,388MW of capacity is out of service for planned maintenance. In the last 24 hours, generating units at Arnot, Duvha, Ingula, and Vanderkloof power stations were taken offline for repairs, while a unit at Hendrina Power Station was returned to service.

Continued Efforts

Eskom teams are working diligently to bring additional generating units back online as soon as possible. The evening peak demand forecast is 27,606MW, and Eskom urges the public to reduce demand by switching off non-essential appliances.

Your cooperation in using electricity sparingly, including turning off geysers and pool pumps from 17:00 to 21:00, is greatly appreciated, as it helps alleviate pressure on the power system and may result in lower stages of Eskom load shedding.
